I'm Animesh, and I'm not a thought leader, life-hacker or evangelist. This is not a soap-box and I'm not here to disrupt.
I'm a thought follower. I read to either support or override my instincts and form opinions. I write to share those opinions.
That's it.
Fast Facts
- Born and Raised in India
- By the time I got to college I had lived in 8 cities and studied in 9 schools
- Since then I have lived in 4 cities in 3 countries.
- I quit my job twice to go on long trips of several months each
- I now live with my wife and 2 daughters in Athens
I have never had the urge to "be my own boss". I have always been happy working for someone else. It's a lot less hassle.
There were times when I saw a gap in the market and thought I could create a business to fill the need, but none of my business ideas ever met what I believe are the 3 golden rules of feasibility -
- It can add recurring value to someone's life
- Can be profitable per customer (or per transaction)
- Can be scaled rapidly
- Will be fun to do.
- Yes, that's more than 3.
So that brings me to here and now. I think I have it. So I'm going to build it. And write about it.
But what's this about Unicorns?
The name of this site is inspired by my daughter's book -

This site is meant to chronicle my journey as I start to build a business from the ground up. I've been inspired by the founders of Basecamp, Derek Sivers, the Zebra Collective and the open startup movement.
Every startup founder believes that their startup is the next unicorn, but the thing is - not every business needs to be "a rocketship" worth a billion dollars.
But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Let's not start this relationship by naming our grandchildren.
Let's take it step by step. Let's build a sustainable, profitable business first and then we'll see how far it goes. Together.
Or, we'll see it crash and burn. And learn.
